Love Is....

Evening all!

Thought I had better get a move on with the Valentines Day cards, seems like everyone wants me to make one this year!

This heart started out as a plywood heart I found in a teachers shop, so inked it and doubled embossed it - I'm loving its shiny shiny-ness!

On the front it says 'Love Is..' then on the inside I have put '4 ever' - nice and simple!

Recipe: red Bazzill Basics card, plywood hearts, 'Red Tinsel' embossing powder, 'Scarlet' Cat Eye ink, Dynamo sentiment, Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:

Belli Challenge #109 - Letter P - My 'P' is for the Plywood heart
For Fun Challenges - Glitter - there is glitter on my embossing heart
Aud Sentiment #20 - Love theme sentiment - My sentiment is 'Love is....4 ever'

Name Day Card

Hi all

Well, I was asked to do a card for my Greek friend whose husbands Name Day is on Thursday.  Manly with his name on is what she wanted!

I had never done a name day card before so that was good to get a new kind of request!

After getting the tip from Top Tip Tuesday about using chipboard pieces that you get in packs, in colours you never use, and re-covering them, I decided to that with the star and the tag.  I put a few layers of embossing powder on them and quite like how they turned out.  With the star, after I did 3 layers of black, I then dipped it in silver.  I had never done that before so quite like how it turned out.

The white cord is something that I have had in my drawers for years...I remember getting it from Ikea but never knowing what to do with it.   I also used another tip left on Top Tip Tuesday, about putting card on the back of paper if you wrap stuff around it so that it doesn't tear - what a fab tip!!

Recipe: Papermania tag and star, cord from Ikea, DCWV Black & White pad, buttons from Satwa

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The Crafty Pad #104 - Something New - new buttons & new techniques
Dutch Dare #95 - All Stitched Up - Mine is faux stitching around the card and on the buttons

Very Easy Card

Morning all

So, I have to hold my hands up to being completely pants with my New Years resolution of posting a new card every other day...in my defense, I've had a cold/tummy bug you name it, I've had it and haven't crafted for chuffin' ages!!

I will do better, I promise!

Anyway, today I want to show you a really really simple card I have made with a handmade flower on it that I have made into a brooch so that my friend can wear it!

Recipe: ribbon from gift, 12x12 paper from stash, Making Memories chipboard pieces, button from stash.

I have had these chipboard pieces for years, and they are never the right colour so I turned them over and coloured them myself and added the stitching detail.  The ribbon flower is my favourite thing to make...so easy but looks so amazing.  I shall be doing a tutorial on this in the future on my challenge blog Top Tip Tuesday.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:

CRAFT Challenge #85 - Moving Components - the brooch moves and comes off the card!!
4 Crafty Chicks - Show us some metal - the metal pin on the back of the brooch
Dutch Date #95 - All Stitched Up - real stitching on the ribbon, and faux stitching on chipboard and button

Thanks for stopping by!

Top Tip Tuesday #16 - Altered Tin & Metal Mickey Challenge

Morning everyone!

Hope you are having a lovely start to 2011!!

This week over at Top Tip Tuesday the very talented Moriah has created the tip on how to do an altered tin.  The challenge this week therefore is:

Metal Mickey - get some metal (brads, robots etc), on your card!

Here is my tin...I had first thought of using a baked bean tin, but when I was washing it out, I sliced down both sides of my hand...needless to say that went into the bin (along with a few swear words..), and I used this cute litte tin I found yesterday in a local shop.

This is a little thank you gift to my friend, who had us over for a fabulous party next week...I am going to fill it with something but not sure what yet...!

Recipe: lace from my friend Sally, ribbon from stash, DRS swirl image, Martha Stewart butterfly punch
