Rushed Job - is it good enough?

Hi all

My old boss from Liverpool contacted me last Wednesday and asked me if I could make his mum a birthday card for yesterday, managed to do one but is there something missing? I sent it to him, but I am not 100% happy with it, feels like it is missing something. I really want to get to grips with over embellishing things as I think that looks fab, ie, with ribbon, layering etc - but everytime I try to do it, it looks silly. Hey ho, I suppose that will come with practice.

Busy few days!

Well, what a busy few days...

Firstly, finally got my Bind It All - woo hooo hooo (not that I have got it out of the box yet..!!)

Secondly, how fantastic is this, but I have won some blog candy! Thank you to Ruth! Will let you know when I receive it! Woo hoo hoo - last time I won something was when I was 13 at a Karaoke competition singing 'FAME'!!

Thirdly, it was my lovely little neice's birthday on Monday - Happy Birthday Olivia - hopefully you can see my first attempt at a curvy card - I know it looks a bit boring, but that was done in a rush on Saturday morning so that I could get to the post office before it shut!!

Lastly - yay, my little buddie Katie has finally got off her bum and done herself a blog, so get over there and have a look here.

Preschool Teachers Gifts

Well, my daughter had her last day at preschool today - another era over *sob*.

I thought instead of giving them chocolates or the usual, that I would try my hand at decorating some notepads and giving them matching thank you cards. I am quite happy with the way they turned out, however, they are not as OTT as I would have made for myself as you never know how girlie people are!! When I do one for me, there will be many more sparkles and ribbon!!

My Favourite Card

I thought it was about time that I start to put pictures of my cards on here - and what better way to start than with my favourite card that I have made.

It was for my dad from my children for this years Fathers Day. I thought that he could put it in a frame to keep. I love this picture, my kids adore their Granddad but don't get the chance to see him very often as we live at different ends of the country. This picture always makes me smile, therefore it's my favourite card!

Gutted

Completely gutted. My local Craft Central store is closing in two
weeks. Its a fab little shop and the girls are really nice. That
will only leave me with one of the big chain stores to go to and I
hate it.

Hello all and welcome to the first comment on my blog! Still new to all this so not sure what I should be writing!
Really got to get to grips with how to put pics of my cards on here..!!!!

On a non-crafting note, my little boy had his first afternoon at nursery today, only missed mummy when he realised I wasn't there. But my daughter looked after him, telling him 'Mummy will be here soon' so he stopped crying and carried on playing with toys - why do they have to grow up so quickly?!

Right, better get back to crafting!!
