We are sailing....to a challenge card..!!

Morning all

The weather here is scortching - just went to the bin and wowzers. Wonder how long it will take to get used to the weather?

Well, we have finally settled into the house, will post pics of it as soon as I tidy it all. The most important bit of info is that I HAVE A CRAFT ROOM!! YAY!! I am so happy as previously back in the UK, I used to have to sit on the edge of my bed to make cards so couldn't really get to anything as I had no storage. Today's task is to get it organised so I can take a pic to show you all!

I want to start participating on challenge blogs, so if anyone can advise me which ones I could do, that don't require stamping, please could you let me know? I have got some cute little stamps that I have never used, so can give it a go, but not sure I want to yet lol!

Right, I made this card for my brother in law who loves to go sailing. I saw a card similar to this either on a blog or a mag, if I remember which, I will let you know.

Recipe:

  • white card from Dovecraft
  • Blue ribbon from Ebay
  • Bazzill card from craft shop
  • Eyeletts free with something
Just seen that I can enter this card into the Allsorts Challenge blog challenge no #17
- fab!! Ooooh here's hoping I can start doing more challenges soon!!

Take care xxx

Hi, Leanne! So glad you are able to craft again and got a room! I need a room too.

Hmmm...you can try Card Pattern. You don't really need to stamp with their sketches. Have fun!

Hi Leanne,
Great card, love the ribbon sea!
If you pop over to my blog, I have a few challenge sites listed in my sidebar.
Have you tried digi-stamps? They are a great way of achieving the effect of stamping without the effort. I download from Pink Petticoat, Charmed Cards & Crafts, The Cutting Cafe, Funky Fairys, Funky Hand . . . There are loads of possibilities!!!
Have fun

PS. it's grey and cold here ;(

Hi LEanne,
This is a lovely card! Nice way of using ribbon.
I've only been stamping for a year or so - it's addictive once you get started. Go on have a go!!
I'm new to the 'challenges' thing too and the only one I've had a go at is Allsorts at Floral Fantasies. This card would fit it this week as it's to make a card for the boys. No stamping necessary!

Hi Leann, hope you adjust to the weather soon babe, not sure I could do it!!
Fab card, love the boat and how you've done the waves is just great!
I thik you can enter a lot of the challenges whether you stamp or not, except for ones like Just Magnolia and WOJ where you must use one of their images. I know A Spoon Full of Sugar who I design for are ok (I've used stickers and toppers before), Papertake Weekly, Sketch and Stash, Daring Cardmakers, Cute Card Thursday, to name but a few are all ok to use anything (I think!). All links are on my sidebar! I'm sure Carly could help you with more to as she enters loads of different challenges!
Take care in that heat!!

Really nicely designed card. I spent a few days in Dubai on my way back from India years ago and I recall the heat stepping out of the airport was incredible (and a stange kind of heat, really dry) It's certainly joing to take some getting used to!
I would suggets joining in my Bee Crafty Challenges which involve using digi (ideal as you can shop, buy and use from your computer!)

Beautiful card! Can't wait to see some photos of Dubai.
Colourcreate is a nice challenge blog as you can use whatever you have just as long as you use the colour theme that they put up!
Penny Black is a nice one if you have any of their stamps or stickers. Do some blog hopping as there are loads.

Hi Leanne, I'm a bit of a newbie stamper so have also been looking for challenge blogs without the stamping (I'm not to confident yet - can't seem to get a clear image) but if you take a peep at my blog sidebar, scroll down, there is a big list of challenge blogs I've found - not all cardmaking ones - some are scrapbooking and altered and some allow you to submit anything :) Hope that helps.

Hello followed your link from the Allsorts site so don't know where you are yet but it sounds lovely so happy new home have fun there :)

Great card think the ribbon is a really neat idea.

One way of finding challenges btw is to follow links from the ones you do to see where else people are entering - careful it is very addictive.
